HERB'S SPORT SHOP CALENDAR...LIBBY, MONTANA 1962

This is a neat old Calendar in new condition...never used from Herb's Sport Shop here in Libby, Montana in 1962. Herb Neils (now deceased) had several enterprising things going on in Libby through the years and this was one of them. Closed it measures 10" X 13" and has wonderful watercolor pics. on each page. There is 2 months to each page. A great piece of Libby's on-going history.

1957 INDEX TO MAPS OF MONTANA

This is a rather unique Map. It is from 1957 and is actually an "Index To Topographic Mapping in Montana". It has areas blocked off across Montana..i.e...LIBBY.....THOMPSON LAKES...STTRYKER....KINTLA LAKES and so on. Really different...they probably made topographic maps for each of these areas. Interesting to see Montana blocked off like that...it easy to read and see. A nice old collectible.

This is a little book entitled "Giggles From Glacier Guides" by Jim Whilt. It was copyright in 1935 by James Whilt, Kalispell, Montana, and is the fourth edition. O'Neil Print, USA. It measures only 4" X 6" and has 30 pages. This is just what it says....short little blurps from guides in Glacier. A nice collectible.

GOLD PANNING FOR PROFIT 1958

This old book is entitled "GOLD PANNING FOR PROFIT" BY WALTER J. ROBERTSON (Mining Engineer). It measures 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" and has 54 pages. I couldn't find a date, but my Mom had written inside front page '58. It does have fifth edition on the front inside page. It has alot of interesting things: Facts About Gold, Where to Prospect, The Law says...., How To Sell Your Gold...to name a few. A nice collectible for the Gold Panner.

This is a neat old book entitled "THE GOLDEN GUIDE TO GUNS"... COMPLETE HANDBOOK OF AMERICAN FIREARMS...BY LARRY KOLLER...Copyright 1961. It measures 4" X 6" and has 157 pages. There are 4 sections: The Rifle, The Shotgun, The Handgun and The Target Gun. Then, there are several sub-sections under each of those. A nice old collectible.

J. NEILS LUMBER CO. NOTEBOOK

This is a really neat old notebook in very good condition marked "Courtesy of J. Neils Lumber Co...A Division of St. Regis Paper Co." This was from the early 70's, I believe. (J. Neils started up in the early 1900's) It was in my fathers things. Still usable, but also a great collectors piece. It measures 9" X 12 1/2". It opens and lays back. You can put more paper in. Very nice.

NATURE MAGAZINE DECEMBER, 1936

WOW!!! This is a neat old find. "Nature Magazine" from December, 1936...it is Vol. 28, No. 6 and sold for .35 cents back then. It measures 8 1/2" X 11 1/2" and has 384 pages that are slick finish. 16 pages has Nature Pictures. Some of the stories: A Prince of the White Country, Shadrach, The squirrel from Kurdistan, Nature Decorations for Christmas Trees, An Albino Ground Squirrel to name a few. A great old collectible book.

MONTANA PICTURE BOOK

Called "Magic Montana Picture Book", it has 66 pictures in color on glossy paper. It measures 6" X 9" and has a complete history of Montana. I think this dates to the late 40's...maybe early 50's. I could not find a date in it at all. It was published by Bob Anderson Postcards in Kalispell, Montana. A nice collectible.

OLD CHARLES RUSSELL PRINT....ADVERTISING

This is an old Charlie Russell print called "AT THE END OF THE ROPE". It was used as an advertising item for the FARMERS CO-OP ELEVATOR CO AND SERVICE STATION IN DENTON, MONTANA. They used to give pieces out as advertisment. Never out of frame and ck. on more info page for the write-up on back. A nice collectible piece. Measures 8" X 10" framed with glass. Very nice condition.

APRIL 1931 GREAT NORTHERN CALENDAR

This is NEAT and OLD!! It is an old April, 1931 Calendar from Great Northern. Chief Eagle Calf, Glacier National Park is the Native American Indian on it and it is from the original portrait by Winold Reiss of N.Y. There might have been the other months, but it appears to me, that this was a single. It reads on the bottom: J. F. Beckett, Traveling Passenger Agent, Great Northern Railway, Great Falls, Montana. It is in really decent shape considering the age. Some small stains here and there. Would look great matted and framed

SET OF WHITETAIL SHED ANTLERS FROM LINCOLN COUNTY, MONTANA

This is a nice set of Whitetail shed antlers....6 point.....from right here in Lincoln County. They have that nice warm brown hue and would look great setting on a coffee table in someones living room. OR...you could mount them for a wall. A great decorator piece. For you who do not know...shed means the deer sheds his antlers every year..early Spring.

WHITETAIL SINGLE SHED ANTLER ......LIBBY, MONTANA

This is a single WHITETAIL shed antler from the Libby, Montana area. It is a very nice one....having the dark brown color and being quite thick. Use as a decorating piece! Thats what I do...using a jar candle to set in the semi-circle. Now this a real piece of Montana.

This is an old vintage pen marked: St. Regis Paper Co., Libby, Montana. J. Neils Lumber Co. sold to St. Regis Paper Co. in 1957. My Father was purchasing agent there, so I would guess this was late 50's or early 60's. A nice old collectible from Libby.

10 CENTS COFFEE...THE STORY OF SYKES' GROCERY KALISPELL, MONTANA

This book is a story of Sykes' Market and Restaurant...with biographical sketches of some of the daily patrons. Sykes's Grocery and Restaurant is located in Kalispell, Montana and has become quite well-known thru the years. This book was written by Beth Adele Beller and illustrated by Vern Wyman...in 1984. It measures 5" X 7" and has 192 pages. It also has the article from the Kalispell News, which no longer exits. It is in good condition. (Mom wrote last names of patrons in pencil in index)

This is a neat OLD colored postcard of the Great Northern Railways New Empire Builder...late 40's maybe? It is new...never used and in great condition. It was published by Keenan News Agency, Spokane, Wa. It reads: The 12-car streamliner, drawn by a 2-unit diesel locomotive, has a 45-hr schedule for the 2,211 mile run between Chicago and Seattle. Oh my...memories!

Another neat OLD colored postcard. This one of a fisherman's catch of a Mackinaw Trout from Lake St. Mary, Glacier National Park, Montana. It was published by the Boughton-Robbins Co., Spokane, Wa. and has never been used, but does have some smudges here and there.

STUMP TOWN TO SKI TOWN was published in 1973 and was authored by Betty Schafer and Mable Engelter. It is a biography of a small northwestern Montana town during its first 70 years. It is a masterful and fascinating look at the history of Whitefish. It measures 9" X 11" and has 286 pages. It is quite large and is in new condition. It does have some writing: To and From on the inside page. It has lots of pics. I am also enclosing a pic of the authors that the paper took at that time. A GREAT READ!!!
